Connect Your Device

wifi2-300x258On your device look for the Wi-Fi networks and you should see networks similar to the picture above.  You need to connect to “DASCLOUD”.  Then enter the key that your teacher will provide.  You should treat this like a public network, so if asked by your device if you want to “share or connect to other devices” please select “No”.

 

Your device should now be connected to the school system, however you won’t be able to access the internet until your device is logged in  and you have installed the school systems root certificate onto your device.  Some devices will automatically bring up the school login page when the device is connected to the Wi-Fi network, others you may need to open a web browser session.

 

Web Access

You can use the school’s internet access on your device, it is filtered and logged just like a school device to stop inappropriate sites.  Please follow the rules set out in the Acceptable use policy.

Open your browser and for the first visit you will see this page:

In order for SSL websites to work correctly, you will need to install a Security certificate.  On the log on screen below the “Log In” button there should be a link to install the root certificate.  You will need to install this certificate.  For a guide on how to install a certificate click here

You will need input your username and password.  This is the same as you use to log on to the computer system at school.

On clicking “Log In” you will be taken to the School’s “Portal” webpage. This gives you quick access to the services the school can provide such as Email, file storage, printing and Moodle to name a few. If you want to browse the web then simply type the address in the address bar and you will be taken to that website, or you can click on the globe and spyglass icon to be taken to Google

If you are still having trouble then you can contact the ICT Support Department Helpdesk by emailing — it@dameallans.co.uk You must use your school email address as we will only reply to valid school email addresses.

You can also come to the ICT Support Office during term-time. We are situated opposite the Staff room.

Please:

  • Read the Policies so that you do not fall foul of the rules.
  • Only use the system for school related activities
  • Do not download large files. The system monitors usage and anybody abusing the system will have access revoked
  • Ask for help from the IT Support Department if things are not working as you expect. We can only fix problems if we know there is a problem!
